All TCC campuses are once again doing their part to help with the shortage of blood by sponsoring blood drives this semester.
With the help of the Carter Blood Care mobile unit, the drives are a good way for students and faculty members to give back to the community.
“Right now, there’s a lot of talk about giving, and this is a quick and simple way to do it,” said Pat Marling, NE coordinator of health services.
It also is a way to ensure that our nation’s blood supply stays up with the demand.
“In case of emergency, we need the blood supply to be current to keep all of the blood types current,” Marling said. “Usually, we also have a bone marrow donation at the same time.”
The South Campus blood drive is scheduled 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 4 in the hallway outside SSTU 1102.
The NE Campus drive is scheduled 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Feb. 11 in the chessboard area.
SE Campus has one scheduled 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Feb. 25 outside the North Ballroom. NW Campus does not have one scheduled until March. For information on the guidelines to be a donor, visit Carter Blood Care’s Web site at carterbloodcare.org.
