SE seminar to address drinking

By Meredith Lynd/reporter

Although binge drinking incidents are down across the country, college students continue to die from alcohol-related auto accidents, accidental drowning and alcohol poisoning.

Bob Phanelson, SE Campus counselor, and Garrison Henderson, SE’s behavioral and social sciences department chair, will facilitate a seminar to show young adults they can drink responsibly and have fun. The seminar will be 10-11:20 a.m. March 10 in the North Ballroom on SE Campus.

A panel of guest experts will represent the Medical Center of Arlington, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the Arlington Police Department and SafeHaven.

Mothers Against Drunk Driving will also participate in the seminar. The organization will have a wrecked car display to show the results of a drunken driving accident.

This event is open to anyone. Phanelson requested that those planning to attend e-mail him at robert.phanelson@tccd.edu.
