Feb. 5 The NE Campus music department will present a student concert at 12:30 p.m. in College Hall (NCAB 1111). Select students will perform pieces chosen from the previous semester by a jury of instructors.
Feb. 12 The SE dance program will host a Middle Eastern folk dance class noon-2 p.m. in EART 1101. Students will be introduced to the Egyptian folkloric dances of Upper Egypt and learn about its origins. They will also learn cane dance choreography. Feb. 17-20 The Festival of New Plays, a showcase of students’ original 10-minute plays, will be in the C.A. Roberson Theatre on SE Campus. Times will be 7 p.m. on the 17th, 7 and 8:30 p.m. on the 18th-20th with a special 1:30 performance on the 19th. Tickets are free for TCC students and faculty, $6 for general admission and $3 for non-TCC students and senior citizens. Feb. 18-19 The South Campus theater program begins the year with Madame President? Compiled by students, the performance features vignettes focused on women’s rise to positions of power and the reaction of society around them. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Reservations are not required, but no one will be seated late. Tickets are $6 for general admission, $3 for other students and seniors and free for TCC students, faculty and staff.
