Seminar to cover student leadership before dinner

By Justin Grass

Students will gain leadership skills at a seminar March 28 on NE Campus.

As part of the Student Leadership Academy series held each semester, Empowering Others will be held 6-7 p.m. March 28 in the Galley (NSTU 1506). Dinner will be held after the event.

NE learning lab manager and one of the event’s instructors Jared Landin said students will read the play The Night Is Darkest Before the Dawn.

The event will be handled as a “class discussion of what roles each character plays, the vocabulary and how it relates to their [the students’] future jobs when they enter a role of leadership,” Landin said.

The event’s instructors all have their own style, Landin said. This event will be participation-based and feature group discussion, he said.

Anyone can attend the Student Leadership Academy, Landin said. Even if a student missed the other parts of the series, Landin said attending can still be useful to see what the series is about.
