NE Campus to provide latest genetics material

By Rylie Parkins/ne news editor

With all of the scientific advances, it is sometimes difficult to remain informed about everything regarding science, particularly genetics.

NE student activities and natural sciences department are sponsoring a genetics update Monday, Feb. 4, 6-7:20 p.m. in the NSTU Center Corner.

The speaker for the event is Dr. Sam Rhine, founder of the Genetic Ed Center. He is an internationally known educator in human genetics, reproductive biology, bioethics, causes and preventions of disabilities and HIV/AIDS prevention.

Rhine has been credited with presenting the most advanced knowledge in more than 7,500 programs relating to genetics. He teaches classes at Indiana University and Purdue University, as well as other college campuses.

The event is free but requires reservations.

For additional information or to reserve a spot, contact Paula Vastine at 817-515-6456 or Gary Smith at 817-515-6547.
