Enrique Iglesias Insomniac (2.5 stars)
Enrique Iglesias doesn’t bring anything new to the table with his new CD, Insomniac.
It is just generic Latin-flavored pop filled with sappy lyrics about loving a girl.
The album’s entertainment value is moderate, but none of the tracks are catchy enough to be remembered a month from now.
The only track worth a listen, and maybe a download, is “Tired to Be Sorry.”
The mixture of electronic beats and Spanish guitar is interesting and fun. But, unfortunately, the rest of the album is formulaic and dull.
His dance club songs, such as “Ring my Bell,” are better than the slow tracks but he relies too much on the beats than on his song writing.
Ultimately, Insomniac isn’t a must have or really worth a listen.
