Women’s History Month Calendar

Now-March 31 Women Engaged in Service, a photo exhibit highlighting 10 women who have performed extraordinary service, is on display in South Campus’ Jenkins Garrett Library lobby area. For more information, contact the South Campus library at 817-515-4524.

Now-March 31 A women’s health booth is available near Riverfront Café on TR Campus. Health professionals have information for women and their families. For more details, call student development associate Dayon Harris at 817-515-1908.

Now-March 31 Portraits of female TR Campus employees can be found in the World Lounge during regular school hours. Included are photos and testimonials from staff and faculty on the importance of the women’s rights movement. March 6-April 3 Works by artists Pamela Sunstrum, currently of Johannesburg, South Africa, and Kim Anno of California will be on display in the Carillon Gallery on South Campus. An opening night reception will be 6-8 p.m. in the gallery in Joe B. Rushing Center for the Performing Arts. The gallery is open by appointment only. March 26 Clips from the film Wonder Women: The Untold Story of American Superheroines, which explains how powerful women have been portrayed in the media and society’s anxieties about women’s liberation, will be discussed 12:50-2:20 p.m. in SE’s Judith J. March 27 Makers: Women Who Make America, a continuing education course free for students, meets 6-9 p.m. in SACB 1210 on South Campus. Students will learn about the struggle women faced to gain a more equal position in their homes, work, education and political areas. The course is open to the community. March 29 The 14th annual Women’s Symposium Enhancing Our World Through Service will be held 8:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the SSTU Living Room, Student Center and Dining Hall on South Campus. The event will present more than 35 vendors and displays, networking opportunities and Fort Worth Judge Bobbie Edmonds as featured speaker. April 3 A Women’s History Month music festival will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall on South Campus. Music students from the fine arts department will perform.
