Pleasure seekers and history buffs can find a bargain this weekend.
The museums of the Fort Worth Cultural District are sponsoring the second annual Day in the District from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday in the cultural district. Admission is free.
Day in the District is a celebration of culture and history featuring performances from groups like the Fort Worth Classic Guitar Society and exhibits like the permanent display at The National Cowgirl Museum and
Hall of Fame.
Media spokesman D.J. Latham said the Cowgirl Museum’s event is an interactive one.
“ We will be showing old photos and film of women of the American West,” he said. “The exhibit is ideal for reviewing early Western culture with the rich tradition of Western heritage in the Fort Worth community.”
Latham said several thousand attended last year’s event, and he expects this year’s numbers to be even higher.
“ This event will open doors for members of the community who have not had a chance to experience art and Western historic culture up close,” he said.
