Sept. 23 South Campus student activities is hosting a Hispanic-Serving Institutions Fair 11 a.m.-2 p.m. in the SSTU dining hall. Hispanic-serving institutions are colleges where Hispanic students contribute 25 percent of the total enrollment. Sept. 23 The SE library is offering a partial screening of the film Documented 2:20-3:40 p.m. The documentary by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas sheds light on the struggles faced by those seeking citizenship. Based on a story about a California high school’s cross country team that gets a new coach who brings out the students’ potential as both champions and teammates. Light refreshments will be provided. The movie follows the true story of a civil rights activist who struggles to balance his responsibilities to his family and to farm workers he fights for. Popcorn will be provided. Oct. 15 South will screen Spare Parts all day in the SSTU game room. The film centers on four Hispanic students who start a robotics club with a dream to compete against the best robotics champion, MIT. Popcorn will be provided.
