NE alumnus Dewayne Hall said the Alumni Lunch and Learn was useful because it’s important to let students and alumni know to stay connected to the school.

“It shows current students how the school used to function, and it shows alumni how far things have progressed since they left,” Hall said.

NE students and alumni met Sept. 27 for the Lunch and Learn in Center Corner to discuss the importance of staying connected to the college after graduating.

Stephanie Rettig, NE career services coordinator, said the event was created to increase school pride and to help people engage with the school that helped to get them where they are.

“I would like students who are taking tough classes to connect what they’re doing now to their future,” she said. “Also, I would like alumni to come get involved with current students.”

Guest alumni speakers Kostas Luecker, Michelle Hartman and Ed Fitzgerald spoke about their time as college students.

They also gave advice about taking advantage of the opportunities that the school offered from financial savings and networking to using the school as a tool for advancement in life.

“Work the program to death because of the financial savings while you’re here and the connections you can make for life,” alumna Michelle Hall said.
