NE health services will host its annual Heart-Healthy Luncheon 12:30-1:30 p.m. Feb. 8 in NSTU Center Corner.
“This year, we’re looking at knowing our numbers,” said health services coordinator, Pat Marling.
The seminar will teach the importance of heart-related numbers such as ideal blood pressure, cholesterol levels and body mass index and methods for finding those numbers, Marling said.
She said she wants students to know what it takes to live long, healthy lives and to realize that keeping one’s heart healthy plays a major part in that.
Sherree Bennett, an educator for the American Heart Association, will outline the risks and details about heart disease along with modifications for a healthier lifestyle.
Attendees will receive a heart-healthy lunch and can take home a heart-healthy cookbook.
The event is free, but seating is limited. Call 817-515-6056 by Feb. 4 to RSVP.
