Students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in a half-day leadership summit entitled Moving Your Constipated Vision — Motivating Students to Move, Change and Make a Difference.
The Feb. 26 event is billed as an opportunity for participants to develop personally and professionally to move on toward their academic, career and other goals.
Self-esteem, leadership, networking and motivation are the summit’s focal points.
Terri Houston, director of recruitment for multicultural programs at the University of North Carolina serves as the featured speaker. Her presentations include such topics as How I Got What I Came For and Confidence — The Invisible Crown.
Students who attended a similar summit during the fall semester posted largely positive feedback on their post-event evaluations provided by student development coordinator Victoria Burson.
Alan Villafana, president-elect of The Leaders Council, called the 2009 summit “inspiring” and said he believes the upcoming one will be equally worthwhile.
“I expect the next summit to be even more inspiring, and I encourage anyone and everyone to come and check it out,” he said.
The event runs 1-4 p.m. Refreshments will be served, and attendees should RSVP no later than Feb. 22.
