The NE Sonata Club will host a duet piano recital Feb. 26 including 15-20 duet teams who earned top ratings in the Sonata Club Duet Piano Festival.
Club vice president Karen Parsons said these are top-rated performers who range in age.
“The festival is a type of contest for area K-12 piano students who study a duet with their piano instructor, polish it and perform it for a judge,” she said. “The top-rated students, those who receive a ‘superior plus,’ are invited to perform [at] the Honors Recital.”
Jackson said the Sonata Club’s goal is to support music students in several different ways, and the recital is another way of doing so.
“This dance concert is an option for NE music appreciation students who need to hear live music and write a concert critique,” she said. “Our TCC students are always amazed to hear such fine piano playing from such young students.”
The recital will be at 7:30 p.m. in Center Corner (NSTU 1615).
