The NW math department is offering two workshops specifically meant to help MATH 0304 students this spring.
The same three workshops are offered every fall and spring semester.
The first, which covers slopes, equations of lines and graphing lines, was held in February.
“They are geared for the 0304 MATH students, but it’s open to any TCC student,” NW associate math professor Vilma Manteiga said.
The second workshop, which will cover factoring, will be 10 a.m. to noon March 30 in WTLO 2126 and 7 to 9 p.m. April 1 in WTLO 2205.
The third workshop will cover adding and subtracting rational expressions and will be 10 a.m.-noon April 13 in WTLO 2126 and 7 to 9 p.m. April 15 in WTLO 2205.
“We start from scratch, and we get them to the point where they feel comfortable,” Manteiga said.
All students should bring their TCC ID and something to write with. All other materials will be provided.
“They need to sign in so we can keep track of the success rate,” Manteiga said. “We provide materials, bottled water and light snacks.”
