Chalk it up to SE Campus where sidewalk chalk art is not for kids.
Chalk about It will be held Wednesday, April 23, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in front of the E wing entrance on SE Campus. SE students, staff and faculty must register to participate and be eligible for prizes in the event. The entry fee is $5 for individual, $8 for team (two people) and $10 for group or club (three or more people). The application deadline to register is Tuesday, April 22.
Participants can check in beginning 30 minutes before the competition starts and will be allowed to check in until 2 p.m. Prizes will be presented at 4:30 p.m.
“TCC SE Campus will become an artist’s canvas and a place for audiences to watch works of art being created right before their eyes,” Brett Dyer, event coordinator, said.
The artwork can show school/club spirit, political or social support/commentary, tributes toward other artists or artwork or original personal expression. Participants will be supplied with chalk, but if they want to bring outside chalk or chalk pastels, they must be approved at check-in. The participants can use small cushions and knee and elbow pads.
Entry forms are available by e-mailing Brett Dyer, the coordinator of the event, at brett.dyer@tccd.edu or Devon Nowlin, instructional assistant, at devon.nowlin@tccd.edu.
