Reality TV content not exactly real

Reality shows started more than 50 years ago, but it wasn’t until the mid-’90s when they started taking over TV.

Reality shows are everywhere now. Even if viewers do not like this genre, it is hard to avoid. They’re on every channel.

What is making them so popular? Even though these shows can be lame, many people enjoy watching them. Reality shows get the ratings, and producers keep making them.

Some people like to watch these shows because they see people like themselves and they imagine they could become celebrities.

There are reality shows of every kind: singers, dancers, decorators, doctors doing surgeries, people competing for money. But most shows provide just drama, drama and drama.

Despite the name, most of these shows are not realistic. They feature not-so-real people in unrealistic situations. Only a few of these shows depict actual reality.

For instance, some of the police shows, like Cops, show real officers on duty, but they usually film extremely dangerous situations to make it fun to watch.

The worst reality shows feature ordinary people who are supposed to ignore the cameras and behave naturally while the camera films them during embarrassing and humiliating situations.

Even though this is not always true, most of these shows are planned out, taking the characters to a specific place and giving them pre-written lines to make the show even more interesting. But that makes them not so real. It’s also annoying that producers only film so many episodes, so the same episode is constantly playing.

Some of these shows, such as Keeping Up with the Kardashians, Kendra and Giuliana & Bill, are made to show the lives of celebrities. These may be a little bit more interesting to watch. People like to know what celebrities go through and how they live. So this type is not that bad.

The problem with reality shows is not really having too many. The problem is the content of the show. At least the show should have an objective, a purpose to be on TV, so people won’t waste their time by watching other people’s boring or made-up lives.
