NE Campus will hold a free pingpong tournament 1-2 p.m. Feb. 22 in the NHPE gym.
Kim Kerby-Dickman, a longtime NE kickboxing instructor, said she is excited to host the tournament.
“I grew up playing pingpong,” she said. “My biggest goal growing up was to beat my father at it.”
The tournament is part of a bi-weekly set of tournaments that will end with a spring run. Several free tournaments are lined up, including bowling, dodgeball and tennis.
The NE gym hosts a plethora of activities, ranging from golf to a free swimming pool. Students can show up at any time and check out equipment or pick up a game with friends, Kerby-Dickman said.
Anyone who goes to TCC may participate, whether student, faculty or staff.
Winners of the tournament receive a can of pingpong balls.
Kerby-Dickman said participants should arrive at 12:45 p.m. and check in at the desk downstairs by the stairwell. All they need to get in is a picture ID, a copy of their schedule and a wristband that will be provided at check in.
“I think everyone should come to the tournament because it is a great way to meet people and have fun,” Kerby-Dickman said.
