As part of its goal to promote educational and financial success, TG Financial will present Managing Credit: Priorities and Pitfalls Feb. 9.

Joe Rodriguez, NE financial aid specialist, will cover information on protecting a student’s credit and showing how credit scores can affect getting a loan for a car or house.

“TG offers resources to help students and families plan and prepare for college, learn the basics of money management and repay their federal student loans,” NE special services coordinator Ronda Issacs said.

The presentation will follow a workshop format with a presentation followed by an activity.

Rodriguez explained the presentation’s importance and potential benefits.

“I want our students to manage their credit, not let their credit manage them,” he said. He also aims to instruct students on “how to stay out of debt [and] keep their credit rating high.”

The session will be 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Community Room (NBSS 1103) on NE Campus. Online registration is available at http://tccdne.volunteerhub.com/events/index.

“I believe everyone can benefit from this information,” Isaacs said.
