Flag football continued on SE Campus Oct. 23 with eight teams playing.
Jihad closed the shutters on I Work with a 33-32 victory.
AK defeated the So Icy Mexicans 7-0 in a defensive-minded game.
AK won SE Campus’ flag football tournament last year, and player Joe Tran said he liked his team’s chances to win the tournament a second time.
“We dominated last year,” he said. “Even though this game was close, we still came out with a win. There’s going to be some tough teams, but we can win this thing again.”
America’s Team blew out TB 34-0. America’s Team quarterback Mendel Folefac said having a full week of practice with his team was the key to their victory.
“It helps when you have time to work with your receivers,” he said. “Our offense was just clicking today, and our defense shut them down.”
The Lions defeated Unknown 26-13.
Lions’ player Edwin Barrios had a Wes Welker-like game with six catches and two touchdowns.
“We want to take the whole thing and beat the other campuses around the district,” he said.
SE flag football continues 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 30.
