In honor of Women’s History Month, Music Reflecting Women’s Lives will be demonstrated at the Women in New Roles Network meeting Saturday, March 10.
The event will feature Laveria Bogan, jazz vocalist and TCC student, who will present songs and inspirational passages that explore and celebrate the many roles women balance in their lives.
“ Music can be used to empower and inspire,” Triesha Light, WINR program coordinator, said.
Light said Bogan has performed at various TCC functions.
“ Laveria’s singing voice and style is similar to Ella Fitzgerald,” she said. “In addition to her solo work, Ms. Bogan has performed with the TCC Jazz Band.”
The WINR Network meets monthly during the fall and spring semesters at Billy Miners Group Room, 150 W. 3rd St. in Sundance Square in Downtown Fort Worth. The meeting time is 12:15-2 p.m.
The network meetings are free, but attendees must purchase their own lunch.
Parking is free at most meters and lots on Saturdays.
WINR, a group founded on South Campus more than 25 years ago, is aimed at assisting women transitioning into a college experience. The group is available on all campuses.
