A faculty recital spotlighting vocal, piano, classical guitar, brass and woodwind works from all eras will be March 28 on NW Campus.
NW music director Richard Powell will perform in the concert and said he looks forward to turning classic music into something relatable to an audience.
“As a pianist, I love to give music life,” he said. “To transform it from notes or chords on a page to something that an audience can identify with.”
Powell said his performance centers on the capability music has of making a powerful impact on the listener.
“I always strive for that goal — to somehow reach a listener and draw that person into a musical experience that will mean something even after the performance has ended,” he said. “A listener’s applause will usually let me know whether or not I have succeeded.”
The performance will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the recital hall and is open to the public. For more information, call Powell at 817-515-7226.
