While the NBA is in the midst of a lockout that may never end, NW Campus is doing its part to keep basketball going with two upcoming events.
An individual 3-point shootout competition will be held Sept. 22 in the NW gym (WHPE) at 3:30 p.m.
The campus’ three-on-three basketball tournament begins at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 27.
“Depending on how many teams we get, if there are around 12 to 15, the tournament could actually be two days,” said NW intramural director Ryan Stewart.
Stewart said the tournament is double-elimination, and the games will be half-court so two games will go at once.
“There will also be 20-minute games or the first team to 20 points, whichever comes first,” Stewart said. “And it will be a call-your-own-foul format similar to the Nike Hoop It Up style.”
Teams may have up to five players on their rosters. Rosters should be turned in at least one week in advance.
