Sept. 21
SE Campus will host Bank Day 10:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in the Main Commons. Area bank representatives will be on hand to offer useful information about opening accounts.

Academic advisor Kiesha Harvey will present a workshop on navigating college as part of the TR lunchtime workshop series noon-1 p.m. in the Discovery Center for Student Success (TRTR 1302).

SE Campus writing center will have an MLA documentation workshop 10 a.m. in ESEE 2227A. The workshop will focus on information needed to create a works cited page.

 

Sept. 21-22
Multiple nonprofit organizations, including United Way, Boys and Girls Club and Habitat for Humanity will be present for a service fair 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Main Street on TR Campus. Students can speak with representatives about volunteering their time.

SE Campus health services will offer free HIV/AIDS testing 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in ESEC 2118.

 

Sept. 22
NW Campus career services will host an open house 2-5:30 p.m. in WTLO 3111. The open house will welcome students to the campus and provide information on what services are offered. There will be snacks, refreshments and prizes.

 

Sept. 23
TR Campus’ center for leadership development will hold a leadership workshop 1-4 p.m. in TREF 1501C. Refreshments will be served. Students can contact Lionel Bailey at 817-515-1191 for more information.

 

Sept. 24
The NE Student Environmental Awareness Club and the city of North Richland Hills will host the Trash Bash litter cleanup. Volunteers will help clean up Highway 26 from Harwood Road to Office Depot. Trash bags and gloves will be provided. A free picnic with food, music and games will be held 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at NRH20 for volunteers. Sept. 26-Nov. 7
NE faculty and students are invited to attend free Zumba classes. Zumba combines Latin and international music with dance to make exercise fun. Classes are 2-3 p.m. every Monday in Center Corner (NSTU 1615A). Participants do not have to attend each week and may stay for all or part of the class. SE Campus career services will sponsor a job fair 9 a.m.-2 p.m. in the main Commons. The event is open to students and community members as well. Participating employers have part-time and full-time entry-level opportunities.

Vendors will display alternative medicines, organic recipes and reiki-style massages during the TR Campus health fair.
