NE Campus will host an art exhibit by Alberto Marrero in NCAB College Hall through Oct. 13 in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
A retired pharmacist, Alberto Marrero, 89, has been painting since he was a child. TCC learned of Marrero through his daughter Lilian Mabry, a counselor on NE Campus.
“He started when he was 6 years old, and it’s always been a passion of his,” Mabry said.
Students can expect all different types of artwork from places like Southwest Texas, Chile, Cuba and other parts of Latin America, she said.
Marrero has exhibited in Chicago and El Paso, Texas, as well as in Mexico and Chile.
A reception is scheduled 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 22 in College Hall.
