NW dance faculty and guest artists will present a concert 2-4 p.m. March 8 in the WTLO theater on NW Campus.Dance faculty members Kim Jackson, Lacreacia Sanders and Amy L. Sleigh as well as guest companies Muscle Memory Dance Theatre and Phase 2 Dance will perform. Some NW alumni will return to choreograph pieces.

Associate professor of dance and humanities Kim Jackson said the concert has no particular theme since it is a showcase for students, faculty and staff to see professionals at work.

“Oftentimes, students forget that most of the instructors have vibrant careers as dancers and choreographers,” she said. “This is an opportunity for us to showcase that and being a living testimony of successful people in the dance field.”

The concert will contain seven to eight pieces, including tap, modern dance and poetic performances, said dance associate professor Amy Sleigh.

“Our TCC NW outreach and touring company Mosaic Dance Project will also create an improvisational dance score that they will provide for the faculty to perform on the spot,” she said.

The concert will conclude with a question-and-answer session and a reception to meet the companies.

Reservations are not needed. Tickets are $5 for general admission, $1 for students with an ID and free for faculty and staff.
