Area educators, business people and political figures attended the Leadership Northwest Forum March 8 on NW Campus to learn how to strengthen the relationship between NW Campus and the local community.

The guests received behind-the-scenes tours of the fire and police academies, aeronautics maintenance labs, horticulture facilities, science center, health and physical education building, theater and the Lakeview Gallery.

The tours enabled faculty to present the diverse spectrum of courses offered on NW Campus, allowing community leaders in the county’s northwest quadrant a first-hand look at the programs available.

The main purpose of the day was to provide an outreach and exposure opportunity for the campus, Dr. Thomas Kemp, NW campus department chair of business/behavioral science and member of Leadership Northwest, said.

Sally Burt, outreach representative for U. S. Sen. Kay Granger’s office, said she was very impressed with the campus.

“ I was not aware of the variety of programs offered,” she said.
