Artist to judge student works for NW exhibit

A local artist will judge pieces created by students throughout the year for an upcoming Lakeview Gallery exhibition.

The 32nd Annual Northwest Visual Arts Students Juried Exhibition will open Thursday, April 12, and will include works students choose to submit for judging.

This year’s juror is Fort Worth artist Nancy Lamb, whose work has been at Kimbell Art Museum, Artspace III, Dallas Museum of Art, 8.0 Restaurant and DFW Airport.

A graduate of Texas Christian University, she has taught ceramics at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History for 27 years.

The top six winning works will be presented at the TCC-NW 2007 Mayfest Booth at Trinity Park in Fort Worth.

The awards presentation will be at noon Saturday, April 14, during the Artist Reception, which runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

The exhibit is presented by the NW fine arts/languages department in collaboration with student activities. Tommy Fitzpatrick, assistant professor of art, serves as exhibit curator.

The free exhibit is open to the public until May 2. Gallery hours are 8 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursdays, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Fridays and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays.
