Women in New Roles will hold an orientation to encourage students to join them for the fall semester 6-7 p.m. May 1 in the SSTU Forum Room on South Campus.

The event will give students an overview of what they can expect as a part of the WINR program. The program’s new recruiting video, Be a WINR, will be shown as well.

Student role models will participate in a panel discussion to provide some insight into the program for prospective members.

“They will be responding to questions from the moderator,” said psychology associate professor Triesha Light, “how they learned about the WINR program, what was their motivation to enroll, how WINR helped them and what degree plan or career path they have chosen as a result of psychological testing and career research options.”

Students who join can expect to explore the answers to where they have been, where they are now and where they are going, Light said.

Interested parties can also learn more about the program.

The orientation is “a chance for those attending to ask questions about how the program works and how they can enroll for fall classes,” Light said.

The event is free and open to anyone interested in WINR. Attendees should arrive by 5:45 p.m. to register.
