In recognition of NE students who have excelled in their academic and service achievements, NE Campus will host its annual Student Awards and Recognition Ceremony April 21.

After receiving a nomination and selection by their academic departments and faculty, nearly 100 students will receive certificates and gifts. The reception begins at 6 p.m. in the Student Center North Hallway and Patio. The awards program will be held 7-8 p.m.

“Every year, we have around 400 people attend this event, not including the students,” said Paula Vastine, director of student development services.

Academic achievements are not the only ones recognized. Various groups, students that have received scholarships and student leaders will walk away awarded, Vastine said.

NE Campus President Dr. Larry Darlage will speak and present the awards to the students during the ceremony.

“We are currently mailing the letters out to award recipients,” Vastine said. “Hopefully, the students will respond quickly once they get them.”

Everyone is invited to attend, and there is no cost. Recipients must RSVP with the student activities office at 817-515-6644.
