A woman was arrested and charged with assault with bodily injury in the Subway on NE Campus Oct. 6.
Aye Hlaing was taken to Hurst city jail after the arrest, said TCC Police Chief Shawn Williams.
Employee and student witnesses said the woman threatened and hit people with her umbrella, destroyed and threw Halloween decorations and was subdued with a headlock by a student.
The incident began with Hlaing causing some disturbance in the Subway dining area. She took apart the corn-cob Halloween decorations and threw the cobs at the cashier, Anthony Grove, and crew member Joe Evans.
That was when NE Campus student and Subway manager Michael Kellner approached Hlaing.
“She like hooked my face with her umbrella,” Kellner said. “I went to leave to get somebody, and when I came back, she hit the glass. The next time she tried to do it, she hit some guy in the arm, so he just takes it [the umbrella] and breaks it.”
Kellner said after losing the umbrella, Hlaing attacked a female in the dining room.
“She went towards both of them, then the second lady got her in a headlock,” he said. “She was detained and just like laughing.”
Grove said Hlaing demanded food while she was hitting the sneeze guards with her umbrella.
“She kept yelling ‘Make my food’ while she was hitting it,” he said. “He [Kellner] got attacked after that. She went on an epic rampage.”
