Jan. 28. Passport Fair sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service will take place 9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. in NSTU 1204 on NE Campus. Participants need to have an original birth certificate, state-issued identification, front and back copy of driver’s license and passport application available online at www.usps.com or www.travel.state.gov. Payment to the Department of State must be by money order or check. Processing fees can be any form of payment. Adult first-time applicant fee is $140 book and card, $110 book only, and $30 card only (restricted travel). Photos are $15, and execution fee is $25. Jan. 29 Student Leadership Academy: Leading with Goals will be presented at 12:30 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. in the The Galley (NSTU 1506) on NE Campus. Feb. 2, 7 Free help with enrolling in health insurance through the Affordable Care Act will take place 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. on the 3rd and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on the 7th in the NTAB building foyer on NE Campus. Those attending should bring their Social Security number or immigration documents, W-2 form, an email address and a policy number for any existing health insurance. Open enrollment ends Feb. 15. Feb. 2-3 SE student activities will sponsor a Club Expo 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Commons. Students will have a chance to visit with different clubs and organizations.

Feb. 3 South health services and the health wellness council will host free confidential HIV testing 10 a.m.-3 p.m. that will be performed by the AIDS Outreach Center. Testing will be in SACC 1311.

Feb. 3 Heart Health will be presented by health and physical education assistant professor Melissa Evans 11:30 a.m.-12:40 p.m. in the North Ballroom on SE Campus. This Lunch-n-Learn will provide information on healthy lifestyle behaviors to help prevent cardiovascular disease, the leading cause of death worldwide, and a heart-healthy meal. Feb. 4 Genetic Conference will be held 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and again 6-7:20 p.m. in the Larry Darlage Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) on NE Campus. Genetics educator Sam Rhine will present the basic concepts in human cancer. He will also discuss human tissue engineering – producing human tissues and organs in the laboratory. Ryan will present on measures of cognitive abilities, altering student and faculty approach and other cognitive information. Three contact hours will be given to licensed professionals.
