After preparing since the first day of class, performing arts students from South, SE, NE and NW campuses will present the Conversations in Rhythm district dance concert Oct. 10.

Dance instructor Kiera Amison said students have at least two dance pieces that they have been working “extremely hard” on.
“It’s a lot of rehearsal and a little performance,” she said. “But there’s something about performing that makes it all worth it.”
With students from nearly all of the campuses working together as a team to put on a show, she said it is all turning out perfectly. A bond has been shared among the students and Amison throughout the countless rehearsals.
“It’s not competitive. It’s fun for the students so they can interact with each other,” she said. “We have fun together, and in the end, we put on a show.”
The dancers will showcase a diverse range of styles and music from jazz, hip-hop, rap to modern.
Muscle Memory Dance Theatre of Dallas will make a special guest performance.
Amison advises to be proactive and reserve a ticket because some people came to the event last year and couldn’t get in. This year, all of the ticket proceeds will be donated to the Rising Stars Youth Leadership Academy.
