Cuban ambassador to speak about changing US relations

As part of Hispanic Heritage Month, NE student activities will present Changing Relations with Cuba Sept. 26.

Former Cuban ambassador and diplomat Carlos Alzugaray will discuss the changes in the relationship between Cuba and the United States.

Alzugaray, who is also an award-winning educator and author, has taught courses on Cuban foreign policy and history of the United States at the University of Havana since 1980, his alma mater since 1965. He has degrees in diplomacy, history of Cuba, contemporary history and a doctorate in historical sciences. Alzugaray has spent 35 years as a Cuban foreign service officer.

The event will be held 12:30-1:30 p.m. in the Center Corner (NSTU 1615A) on NE Campus. Food and drinks will be provided.
