NE jazz orchestras to feature diversity

By Edith Mariscal

Students and staff can hear a variety of music from the NE community jazz orchestra Nov. 29.

The concert will feature two jazz bands, the NE Campus Jazz Lab Band and the NE Jazz Orchestra.

The performance starts at 7 p.m. in Center Corner (NSTU 1615A).

Each band will perform diverse traditional music styles.

The concert will progress from 1930s and 1940s jazz music to today’s, including rock, funk and even country music.

“[I] love motivating students,” NE music instructor Warren Dewey said. “Through proper motivation, you get gratifying results.”
