March 25 Grammy nominee John Hammond will appear at 8 p.m. in the McDavid Studio in downtown Fort Worth. The seldom-seen artist is touring behind his newest album Rough and Tough, which was nominated for Best Traditional Blues Album. The artist has toured and recorded with Muddy Waters and Eric Clapton. March 29 The NE music department will present Music Through the Centuries 7:30 p.m. in NSTU Center Corner. The hourlong faculty concert encompasses vocal and instrumental pieces from specific musical style periods and brings them to life on stage. Students and the public are welcome to attend the live harmonies of music through the years.
March 31 The NW music faculty will perform various jazz, classical, opera and musical theater pieces in the Faculty Noontime Recital. The recital starts at 12:30 p.m. in WFAB 1105 on NW Campus and is free for all students.
ART
Now-March 10 Interconnectivity, a series of works by three art faculty members, is on exhibit in the J. Ardis Bell Library on NE Campus. Pieces include one oil on canvas by associate professor Cindy Hurt, two “graffiti” on canvas by associate professor Andrew Stalder and two watercolors by instructor Rebecca Briley. Library hours are 7:45 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7:45 a.m.-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free.
Now-March 27 The indoor portion of Sculpture: Inside-Out will be on display in the Lakeview Gallery on NW Campus. The outdoor portion will be on display outside WFAB for longer. The sculptures were created by art instructors and independent artists from across the state. An artist reception will be 11 a.m.-2 p.m. March 26 with Artist Talks beginning at noon.
Now-March 27 The Kimbell Art Museum presents Salvator Rosa: Bandits, Wilderness and Magic. The 36 oil paintings show the wide range of subjects produced by the 17th century Italian before his death at 58. Tickets are free for members and children under 6, $8 for adults, $6 for students with IDs and seniors 60 and over and $4 for children 6-11. Now-April 3 NW art professor Eduardo Aguilar honors his grandmother and two Texas Latino college presidents in his three paintings on display in the Art Space in the Walsh Library on NW Campus.
March 10-31 The Biennial Faculty Exhibition will be on display in the Carillon Gallery in the Joe B. Rushing Center for the Performing Arts. The exhibition includes works by the visual art faculty of South Campus. Gallery hours are 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Thursday. March 21-April 17 TR Campus brings Enduring Desire, a photography exhibit by Candice Chase, to the East Fork Gallery. The images, high-resolution prints mounted on 24-by-36-inch gator boards, reflect both the community and Chase’s own spiritual journey. Some prints come from her photographing neighborhood youth in an Oak Cliff gym in Dallas. An artist reception is 4-6 p.m. March 26 in the gallery. A Gallery Talk begins at 4:30 p.m. The gallery is open during the campus’ normal operating hours.

Now-March 12 Artisan Center Theater in Hurst presents C.S. Lewis’ Prince Caspian. The Pevensie children travel back to Narnia to fight alongside their new ally. Now-April 2 Circle Theatre in Fort Worth presents the area premiere of Boeing-Boeing, a classic farce written by French playwright Marc Camoletti. The comedy is based on a successful architect living in Paris and juggling the timetables of his three fiancées who are all flight attendants. Everything is going well until a friend stops over for a surprise visit, and all three stewardesses change their flight schedules. March 11-13 The first DFW bilingual performance of The Vagina Monologues/Los Monólogos de la Vagina will be produced by Artes de las Rosa and V-Day Fort Worth. March 9 Muscle Memory Dance Theatre, Big Red Dance Collective and Phase 2 Dance Ensemble will join the NW Campus dance faculty for the Faculty and Guest Dance Concert 2-4 p.m. in the NW Theatre. After the recital, performers will participate in a question-and-answer time as well as a reception where the audience can meet the performers. Admission is $5 for general admission, $1 for students with ID and free for TCC faculty and staff.
