Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit

A Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit will be on display during regular campus hours in the ESCT Hub on SE. The exhibit will feature the Cesar Chavez timeline created by SE’s HHM committee. Other significant Hispanic pioneers and artists will also be displayed. An opening reception for the exhibit will be held 10:30-11:30 a.m. Sept. 18, and light refreshments will be served. The Harry Potter’s World: Renaissance Science, Magic and Medicine exhibit is on display during regular library hours in ESED 1200 on SE. Using materials from the National Library of Medicine, the exhibit explores Harry Potter’s world, its roots in Renaissance science and the ethical questions that affected not only the wizards of Harry Potter, but also the historical thinkers featured in the series. The Question, Persuade and Refer training: Suicide Gatekeeper training takes place 2-3 p.m. in the Cypress Room on SE. Just as people trained in CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver help save lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade and refer someone to help.
