Vampire Weekend Vampire Weekend (4.5 stars)
Vampire Weekend might not be a household name, but with its energetic and engrossing self-titled debut, it will be soon enough.
The preppie rockers who make up the group bring a medley of classical, African and British beats to the table as the front man croons about girls and life on campus.
What makes this album so enjoyable is its uniqueness and light-weight fun.
“A Punk” and “Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa” are just fun tracks with a happy-go-lucky feel to them. The listener will find themselves singing the odd lyrics months after buying the CD.
Vampire Weekend is a great listen for a beautiful day in the car with the windows down.
