NW Campus dance is moving forward with momentum.
TCC dance students and two guest companies will perform Momentum: a Moving Experience at 6 p.m. April 23 and 24 in the Scott Theatre in the Fort Worth Community Arts Center.
Tickets are $7 and can be purchased in advance at business services or at the door on performance night.
The dance department chose Moving Experience because dance moves people, said Lacreacia Sanders, NW Campus dance associate professor.
“Our performances are moving in some way,” she said. “You might feel joy or sadness or just want to get up and dance.”
Momentum is the main theme because after celebrating NW dance’s 10th anniversary last year, the program is moving forward with momentum, Sanders said.
The performance will include three works choreographed by students. The pieces were chosen from last semester’s dance composition class.
Dance styles will range widely, including modern, hip-hop, jazz and ballet.
“A variety of dancers, a variety of dances,” Sanders said.
NW Campus dance has put on an annual performance every year since 1999, Sanders said.
