NE Campus will present Veterans Health and Education Benefits 3-5 p.m. in NSTU Center Corner. Speakers include a transition patient advocate, a suicide prevention coordinator and an education compliance specialist.

NE Campus hosts Cornerstone’s Instructor Orientation and Preparation 1-2:30 p.m. in the NSTU Galley. The presentation is open to instructors who want to teach honors students in the future. The day will begin with a presentation by Michael Nichols, NW Campus Cornerstone director, followed by a question-and-answer panel.

TR health services will sponsor a Carter BloodCare blood drive. Free hot dogs, hamburgers, drinks and music are available for blood donors. Donors must be at least 17 years old, healthy, weigh at least 110 pounds and have a valid ID. At least 56 days must have lapsed since a last blood donation. TR health services will host a National Bone Marrow Registry 9 a.m.-6 p.m. on Main Street in the Trinity River Building. Students and staff can register to donate marrow and help those with potentially fatal blood diseases. Donors must be in good health, age 18-60 and have no history of cancer, diabetes or heart attack/heart disease. A district speech competition will be 1-6 p.m. in WSTU 1305 on NW Campus. Final rounds will start at 4 p.m. Students will present speeches to a panel of judges including speech faculty and speech team alumni. The top six students will receive trophies and plaques.

NE Campus hosts Honors Day 12:45-2:45 p.m. in the NSTU Galley. Cornerstone honors students from the entire district will present their portfolios required for completion of the program. The event is open to the public. For more information, contact Donovan Hufnagle at donovan.hufnagle@tccd.edu.

The NE Campus mental health program will hold an orientation at 12:30 p.m. in NSTU Center Corner. Anyone interested in enrolling in the program should attend. For more information, contact Dolores Sutter at 817-515-6614.

The NW Campus spring ceramics class will sell its pieces 10 a.m.-3 p.m. in front of the Bookstore. Bowls, cups and other pieces will be sold for $5 to $30 plus.

Iwo Jima survivor and high school teacher Phil Porter will present a short documentary video, The Battle for Iwo Jima, and then answer questions from students. The presentation will be 1 p.m. in WSTU 1303-05 on NW Campus.

NE Campus student activities, mental health department and continuing education will sponsor Adolescent Drug Trends in Texas 1-4 p.m. in NSTU Center Corner. Chief operations officer of Tarrant County Challenge John Haenes will discuss the different types of drug abuse and paraphernalia, new technology in the drug scene, drugs’ effects on the brain and on behavior. The seminar is free for students and $20 for professionals because they will receive three contact hours for attending. Business Performance Company will present Publicizing Your Personal Brand and Staying in Demand 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. in SSTU Living Room (2105) on South Campus.
