Student movie fest to scare again

The fifth annual Student Horror Film Festival, put on by students from each campus, will take place at 7 p.m. Oct. 27 in SREC 1110 on South Campus.

“The event started out smaller and has grown to be the biggest event yet this year,” South student Jerrick Drayden said.

Drayden has participated in the festival since its creation five years ago.

“There are more people participating this year than in past years,” he said.

TR students are also participating for the first time.

The deadline for students wanting to submit their short films is Oct. 22.

Entries must be submitted in MPEG-4 or H264 format with Dropbox or Google Drive.

Films can also be uploaded to Vimeo as a password-protected link available for download. Other formats will not be accepted.

The film festival is a celebration of the art of filmmaking and presents an opportunity for students to showcase their skills, Drayden said.

Admission is $2 and open to the public. Popcorn will be provided.
