NW performers will lead dances through the decades to raise money for children in need.
The Monster Mash Dance-A-Thon will feature music going back as far as the ’50s while the dancers show participants how to do the Hustle, the Limbo, the Macarena, the Cupid Shuffle and Thriller. The event is open to students and faculty.
“The goal is to have people dancing on the floor from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m.,” said Amy Sleigh, NW dance associate professor.
All donations from the Mash will go toward the Assessment Center of Tarrant County. Sleigh said during finals week, the dancers will purchase, wrap and deliver presents for the children who have been saved from violent homes.
No registration is required, and a $5 donation is recommended. The dance will be Oct. 31 in WHPE 1103.
A costume award ceremony at noon will recognize the funniest, scariest and most creative costumes.
Popcorn and drinks will also be available.
“Come by and let loose on the floor,” Sleigh said.
