South shows DVDs of women’s history

In honor of Women’s History Month, South Campus’ WHM Committee will present “A History of Women’s Achievements in America” DVD series.

Every 30 minutes, one of eight DVDs will be shown detailing the accomplishments of women between the time periods of 1621-2006.

“This event provides a journey into self-movement and answers these questions about the women’s movement: Where have we been? Where are we now?” associate professor of psychology Triesha Light said. “These are universal questions that each woman has to ask herself at some point in her own life.”

Light said these programs would provide women with insights and answers to these questions.

The event will take place 1-5 p.m. in the SSTU Texas Room. Posters around campus list specific times that the particular DVDs will be shown.
