The Collegian Report – NW Campus Holds Ribbon Cutting Ceremony For New Buildings

The opening of the new science and early collegiate high school building was commemorated with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The event featured four ribbon cutting ceremonies, catering and tours throughout the building showing the new facilities. The event was attended by not only TCC administration but students, staff and even Fort Worth community officials. NW Campus president Zarina Blankenbaker gave a speech thanking the NW Campus community for their patience. Other speakers were the chancellor of TCC Elva LeBlanc, TCC board of trustees president Teresa Ayala, Fort Worth city council member Carlos Flores and even the NW Student government president Sammy Jepsen. The attendees of the event were welcome to explore the halls of the new building after the ribbons were cut. The halls are lined with paintings contributed by students, the classrooms feature giant windows facing the Marine Creek Reservoir and the marble stairs are a far-cry from the mud that Blankenbaker noted in her speech. The building is a part of the ongoing construction approved in 2019.
