Women’s history month calendar

Now-March 30 NW’s Empowered Women will feature a display of influential women of the NW Campus community in honor of Women’s History Month. The exhibit can be viewed in the WSTU bookstore lobby during regular campus hours. March 29 Jenna Quinn, a sexual abuse survivor, activist and author, will present Advocating for Self and Others 9:45-10:30 a.m. in the TR Idea Store. Quinn is the person behind Jenna’s Law, the most comprehensive U.S. child abuse prevention law to date.

March 29, 30 SE student activities will show the Painted Nails documentary 2:20-3:40 p.m. on the 29th in the ESCT HUB. The documentary is about Van Hoang, the owner of a nail salon who testified before Congress about the need for safer cosmetics. The discussion of this film will take place at 10 a.m. March 30 in the Judith J. Carrier Library. March 30 Heather Reynolds, the CEO of Catholic Charities Fort Worth, will speak noon-1 p.m. in the TR Idea Store. One of the youngest CEOs in the country, Reynolds oversees strategic direction for her nonprofit organization. She will share her leadership philosophy and her group’s efforts to eradicate poverty.
