Greetings TCC, I interrupt your regularly scheduled opinion piece to take out a personal ad, and if you don’t mind, it’s personal.
Unfortunately, the relationship I’m currently in is slowly sinking down the stinker. In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, I felt the need to find a new friend girl, just in case the 14th comes and I’m solo (which isn’t a bad thing).
A little about me? Well, I love all kinds of music, sports, video games, writing and reading (my stuff). I’m book smart, street smart and have a fair amount of common sense. I’m tall, dark and my mama thinks I’m handsome. Well, she said, “You’re all right.”
My sense of humor is always present. Some of my favorite pastimes are funny movies, late night Comedy Central and old sitcoms on Nickelodeon.
What do I look for in a friend girl? Well, my future last girlfriend was a little older than I am, so I’d like someone between the ages of 19 and 22 just to mix it up, but I wouldn’t mind a cougar. Maybe someone who likes to go to clubs although she doesn’t like clubs. Neither do I really, yet every now and then is nice.
I have no preferences of race or size, but I can’t stand dumb girls. My present friend is really smart and always teaches me.
I’m passionate about everything I love, but especially my writing and music. I spent my last $10 and this lucky $2 bill I’ve been keeping for years just to get the new Corinne Bailey Rae album the first day. I like to share the things I enjoy with my friends.
During an argument, my girlfriend said all Rae’s songs sound the same, and it ticked me off. I told her, “All her songs don’t sound the same. All your boring stories sound the same.” She really irks me at times.
With that being said, I realize that I can get angry over the stupidest stuff. I’m fortunate to have someone who loves me and is crazy enough to put up with all my madness.
In fact, I take it back. Sorry, ladies, the position is filled. Better luck next year. To quote one of my favorite singers, “Someone to love is bigger than your pride.”
