NE Campus student government association members will hold a meeting March 26 for representatives of clubs to voice their concerns about TCC .
Karla Orozco, president of the NE SGA, will listen to students’ feedback. Other club organizations were at a meeting Feb. 12 to get an idea of what SGA does and information for the meeting March 26.
“Organizations support each other,” Orozco said. “We have a broad mindset. We promote each other. We’re helping each other.”
When students are more involved and provide feedback they know exactly what to work on and how to get it started, Orozco said. She wants students to know that their complaints and concerns will be heard.
Although SGA is known for hearing students’ complaints about parking tickets, they also fix on-campus problems. Once students’ concerns are heard, SGA members will address them to an adviser or other staff person. Then they will talk to the vice president and get feedback to give back to the student.
NE student development services director Victor Ballesteros said during the meeting why SGA members are always there for students.
“What’s important to get from this meeting is to connect with different clubs and to let students know SGA is here for resources and bringing concerns for daily life,” he said.
Neli Garza, representative of the Dance Club, said she learned SGA is true to their words.
“They made me feel comfortable,” she said. “The club was small and personal so I knew they were focused on us students. I liked how easy it was to feel involved with a club.”
The March 26 meeting will also allow club members to give sizes for their T-shirts. Only a representative of each club will attend the meeting, and food will be provided. SGA is also looking for students to fill six different positions, including treasurer and senators.
