Career services held a 20-minute presentation for students at the Water’s Edge Cafe on NW Campus Oct. 8 about resume and other job-seeking advice.

Students could enjoy healthy snacks while learning tips such as how to dress for the job they want.

“We teach them that they have marketable skills from job to job that transfer,” said NW student development specialist Cassie Fennel. “We provide them the tools they need to succeed. It’s up to them to take the first step.”

Career services holds these lunch-and-learn events monthly, always offering career tools for students to use.

“At career services, it is our job to provide essential resources for students and to guide them successfully,” said NW student development associate Diana Wagner.

Listening to Fennel and Wagner’s career guidance, a student, who had been attending regular meetings and mock interviews, was offered to work at a manufacturing company.

Career services does not provide job opportunities or job placement, but office staff guide students on how to become the employee they wish to be.
