SE literary magazine extends deadline due to snow storms

Because of weather, SE Campus’ creative arts magazine, The Compass, extended its deadline for submissions from Feb. 11 to Feb. 25.

The Compass is an award-winning magazine in its second semester. English instructor Pennie Boyett serves as advisor, and work for it is done entirely by SE students, faculty and staff.

To enter, students must be enrolled either on SE Campus or in a distance learning class taught by an instructor based on SE. Literary entries must be submitted on a PC-formatted disk using Microsoft Word or Rich Text Format and should not exceed 2,000 words if prose or 60 words if poetry.

Art entries must be a minimum of 300 dpi and formatted in either JPEG, TIFF, PSD or EPS.

To photograph the artwork, contact Sally Jinks at sally.jinks@tccd.edu for an appointment.

Students are limited to five submissions while faculty and staff are limited to three. Each entry must have its own submission/release form, which can be found in the SE Campus library and writing center or from SE teachers. Entries should be taken to the SE English office (ESEC 2130A).

For additional information, contact Boyett at pennie.boyett@tccd.edu or 817-515-3140.
