Students to learn techniques to aid in balancing life

Students overwhelmed by going to school, taking care of their children, cleaning their houses and putting food on the table might find some assistance next week.

Flo Stanton, South Campus coordinator of health services, will present Balancing Multiple Roles Wednesday, Feb. 7, 6-6:45 p.m. in SACC 1323 on South Campus.

The session is open to the public, and it would be beneficial to anyone who has a lot on their plate, Stanton said.

Stanton said this speech is not aimed just at women.

Men can also feel overwhelmed and stressed out at times. Many of them also are attending college, working and taking care of family responsibilities.

Men and women sometimes have trouble finding some time for fun.

Stanton will discuss finding balance in all of those things.

Prioritizing time is one of her key strategies.

Although there is no way to eliminate the stress totally, Stanton said prioritizing time is one method of trying to put the stress in check.

The presentation is part of the Health Forum Series Stanton conducts each semester for Women In New Roles.
