Because of construction in downtown Fort Worth near the May Owen Center, TCC has been forced to rearrange the parking at the district offices.
Visitors to the MOC should use caution when parking downtown to avoid towing fees.
In a recent incident, three employees parked in a vacant lot west of TCC’s parking lot on Throckmorton Street because of the scarce parking near the MOC.
“The owners of the lot had the vehicles towed almost immediately, and our employees had to pay expensive retrieval fees for their vehicles,” Karen Burkhart, executive secretary in office of the vice chancellor for operations and planning services, said in an e-mail to employees.
At present, parking in the fenced lot at MOC is on a first-come, first-served basis. If the lot is full, visitors can park curb side on Houston Street on the east side of MOC.
The Houston Street parking has been approved by the city of Fort Worth, but with a two-hour time limit. The parking on Houston Street is for MOC visitors only, not MOC employees.
The lot directly behind MOC has permanently assigned parking.
Visitors to MOC should notify TCC police on arrival if parking on Houston Street.
